Sacramento man arrested after 48th Avenue shooting that left 1 dead
SACRAMENTO – An arrest has been made in the shooting that left a man dead in a south Sacramento parking lot.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said, late in the night back on Nov. 20, deputies responded near 48th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to investigate a ShotSpotter activation.
A witness also soon called to report that there had been a shooting in a parking lot and that a man appeared to be hurt.
Deputies found a shooting victim in the parking lot and started first aid. Medics soon pronounced the man dead, however. His identity has not been released, but the sheriff's office noted that he was a known gang member.
Detectives announced on Wednesday that a suspect had been identified and arrested. Sacramento resident Hanson Plater, 26, is facing a charge of murder and is not eligible for bail.
No other details about the case, including exactly what led up to the shooting, have been released.
