Sacramento Man Traveling To LAX Mistakenly Ends Up Flying To Dallas

SACRAMENTO (CBS) – Instead of a quick trip to Southern California, a man flying from Sacramento International Airport got an unexpected flight to the Lone Star State.

"I did look at the monitor. I saw the gate and I thought I was in the clear," Fernando Giron, who was traveling for a work meeting, CBS Sacramento reported.

He didn't realize the major mistake till midair.

"When the pilot made the announcement that the weather was going to be clear and a smooth flight to Dallas," he said.

Fernando's normal flight from Sacramento to LAX takes less than an hour.

"Everybody was shocked, the crew, the people at the counters, the people at the doors; they had no explanation for what happened," he said.
