Orangevale woman, 73, dies after being struck by van near Auburn
PLACER COUNTY – An Orangevale woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle near Auburn Thursday night.
California Highway Patrol says, a little after 8 p.m., officers responded on Edgewood Road, near Blitz Lane, to investigate a reported collision.
There, officers found that a woman had been hit by a van. Medics transported the woman to the hospital, but CHP later learned that she had died.
The name of the woman has not been released, but CHP says she was a 73-year-old Orangevale resident.
Exactly what led up to the woman being struck is still under investigation. CHP is urging anyone with further information to contact the Auburn Area office.
