Man fatally shot in Pembroke Pines, police searching for suspect

Police seeking Pembroke Pines shooter

FORT LAUDERDALE — Police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot in Pembroke Pines early Saturday morning.

Just before 1 a.m., police were called out to 11700 Sheridan St. after a report of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they found a crashed Nissan Altima and its driver shot.

The driver was immediately taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died despite all emergency medical care, Pembroke Pines Police stated in Saturday's press release.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe at least two vehicles were driving recklessly along Sheridan Street when an occupant from one vehicle shot at the Altima driver.

If anyone has any information they are urged to contact Pembroke Pines Police at (954) 431-2200 or tips@ppines.com, or call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
